To turning off the pilot light

- open the bottom of the of the fireplace.

- there should be "RED VALVE" switch and turn it to vertical 

 (close) position

U R done, however to turn on the pilot light on takes few more steps.

To turn on the pilot light

1.  turn the "RED VALVE" to horizontal(open).

2.  turn the dial knob to "PILOT" position.

3.  pump(push) the dial knob fast, 20 times or more

    as soon as pumping ended,  press the dial knob and do not 

    let it go and same time "click"(push) the "PILOT LIGHT"(red

    or black) switch.

4.  if there is pilot light on, then continue keep press &

     hold the dial knob for about 20 to 30 seconds

5.  let go the dial knob and pilot light should stay on.  

6.  once pilot light is on then turn the dial knob to "ON"

     position.

If there is no pilot lights try the 3 to 6  procedure again.
