I also have a kid in grade 1. In my opinion, there are good communities in NW and SW. After finishing elementary school, kids go to the same Junior High school with their friends within their community. If you move to another community around that time, your kids will lose their friends and should make a new relationship with new kids in the new community. It is not desirable.

So, I would suggest that you may settle down in the community where you will live for a long time so that your kids may make a long term friends through elementary school to senior high school. I think that's very important for the future of your kids. Yes, most elementary school are about the same, but, I mean, you need to consider the community.
