디지털 시대의 도래와 눈부신 발전은 인류 사회에 전례 없는 혁신과 편의를 선사했으며, 앞으로도 계속 발전해 나가야 할 위대한 성취임이 분명합니다. 그러나 저는 디지털 시대가 시작되던 첫 시점부터 줄곧 한 가지 본질적인 위험성을 경고해 왔습니다. 디지털은 우리 삶을 놀랍도록 편리하게 만들고 막대한 비용을 절감해 주지만, 동시에 ‘단 한 번의 클릭으로 모든 것을 한 방에 날려버릴 수 있는’ 치명적인 위험을 안고 있다는 사실입니다.
그렇기 때문에 저는 디지털 문명이 태동할 때부터 언제나 ‘아날로그가 바탕(Foundation)이 되어야 한다’고 주장해 왔습니다.
가정과 사회는 물론, 특히 국가 안보와 국방, 그리고 국민의 생존에 직결된 국가 핵심 기반시설일수록 아날로그라는 견고한 토대 위에 디지털을 쌓아 올려야 합니다. 제가 전 세계 모든 국가와 기관에 제안하는 시스템의 핵심 원칙은 명확합니다.
✅ 평화로운 시기의 디지털 가동:
일상적인 평시에는 아날로그 기반 위에 구축된 디지털 시스템을 적극적으로 사용하여 생활의 편리함과 경제적 비용 절감 효과를 극대화합니다.
🚨 사이버 공격 시 즉각적인 아날로그 복귀:
2026년 10월과 11월에 걸쳐 전 세계적으로 발생한 대규모 사이버 공격과 같은 비상사태가 터졌을 때는, 단 1초의 마비도 없이 즉시 바탕에 깔린 아날로그 시스템으로 돌아가 정상 작동할 수 있는 체계를 갖추어야 합니다.
편리함과 비용 절감이라는 달콤함에 취해 아날로그라는 뿌리를 아예 뽑아버린 사회는, 보이지 않는 해킹 한 번에 국가 전체가 멈춰 서게 됩니다. 2026년 가을 전 세계가 목도한 사이버 위기는 제가 오랫동안 주장해 온 ‘아날로그 기반 위의 디지털 구축’이 얼마나 절실한 생존 전략인지를 명확히 증명하고 있습니다.

The digital revolution stands as one of humanity’s greatest achievements. It has delivered unprecedented convenience, borderless connectivity, and massive cost efficiencies across the globe, and its technological advancement must undoubtedly continue.
Yet, since the very dawn of the digital era, I have consistently voiced a fundamental warning: a civilization built exclusively on digital architecture can be erased with a single click. The greater the convenience a digital system offers, the more catastrophic its vulnerability becomes when weaponized against us.
From the beginning of this technological shift, I have advocated for an uncompromising architectural principle: Analog must remain the permanent foundation of human society, with digital systems built strictly as an operational layer on top of it.
This dual-layered paradigm applies across every level of modern life—from individual households and local communities to sovereign governance, national defense, and critical public utilities. The operational standard must be crystal clear:
✅ In Times of Peace & Stability:
Nations and societies should fully utilize the upper digital layer to maximize speed, public convenience, and economic efficiency.
🚨 In Times of Crisis & Cyber Warfare:
When catastrophic cyberattacks strike—such as the wave of global cyber disruptions witnessed throughout October and November of 2026—critical infrastructure must possess the structural capability to immediately and seamlessly revert to its underlying analog foundation.
Power grids, water supplies, healthcare networks, financial lifelines, and military command structures cannot afford to be held hostage by lines of code. Sacrificing physical, manual, and analog control systems in the name of budget cuts and modern efficiency is a fatal strategic error.
The global cyber incidents of late 2026 are a definitive wake-up call for every nation on Earth. I urge the United States, its international allies, and governments worldwide to establish a new global standard for security resilience:
