Training provided will focus on the development and use of essential skills specific to entry level jobs in retail with a particular emphasis on the grocery sector. This 13 week pilot will include an 8 week part time work experience placement in a retail setting.
The classroom portion of the program will begin on Jan 3, 2011. We are actively looking for suitable clients at this time.

What does the program offer?
- 5 weeks full time and 8 weeks of part time in-class training in Essential Skills, retail skills, life skills, health and safety and career planning
- 8 weeks of part time work experience
- Duration January 3 – March 30, 2012
Eligibility Requirements
- Unemployed
- At least 18 years of age
- Able to attend a 13 week program and committed to part or full time shift work during 6 month follow-up
- No post secondary education
- Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) of 4
- Permanent Resident Status in Canada
